Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful end to 2011 and are looking forward to what 2012 has in store for us. I'm looking forward to my two boys going off to school this year. My baby is now 5 and off to Prep. I'm looking forward to it (all that free time Ha Ha Ha) but I'm constantly reminded by lots of people that I will be a blubbering mess that first day. I'm sure I will be.....

I've been quite unproductive over these holidays. The fact that my husband John has been home for three weeks has contributed to that so I have not much to share with you. However I do have this card that my mum made for her good friend whose Birthday falls on Christmas Day. Mum got stuck into the new Spiced Paisley Stamp Set from the current Summer Mini and the gorgeous DSP that matches. I love the colour combo of Pool Party, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. We don't use buttons much but it works really nicely in the centre of the flower.

I promise to get back into things soon. I'm having a wonderful time at home with my three boys Hee Hee Hee. I have some Sale-a-bration Goodies coming my way to play with over the next few days and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into those. 24th January is not that far away. Start making those wish lists ladies.

Christmas Tags Wall Hanging

I'm back, no new computer yet but have managed to borrow my hubby's for a bit. Today I have some tags to show you. We made these at my last class and had an absolute ball puting them togther. I even made two sets, one for me and one for my mother-in-law. Needless to say, she was wrapped as was everyone at the class.

There are four tags in the set. They were cut out using the Two Tags Die from Stampin' Up! They all have different elements made with mostly Stampin Up stuff to finish them off. Can you spot the non-Stampin Up paper? I was inspired by a set of tags I saw by a lady in America, Sandi McIver, and decided to give it a go with what products we have available in Australia.

After the class, we all decided these tags were too good to give away and we turned them into a wall hanging or tree decorations to keep for ourselves. How selfish are we.......

Here is each tag up close for you to see the finer details. Each Tag has a different Ribbon using either Seam Binding or lace and a different Antique Brad. I just love these vintage projects.

The flower on this tag was inspired by a New Zealand Demonstrator, Sharlene Meyer and you can check out her version here.

This is my favourite.

Hello everyone, I am so sorry I have not been back here for a little while. My Laptop has died (no help from that cold cup of tea I had sitting nearby when the boys started chasings through the house). I believe the data is still ok (thank heavens) but I have no way of updating my blog till I get a new one. So please be patient. I have some wonderful things to show you when I return which hopefully will be very soon.

There are so many nice products coming in our Sale a bration catalogue coming out in late January. It really is a good time to think about having a workshop or gathering some orders together to take advantage of the extra special items you can earn for free. 12 Weeks of Christmas #9 - Welcome Christmas Swing Card

Ok, I know I have missed a week. These weeks are coming and going so fast and I am struggling to keep up with all there is to do. Two weeks of School left, Teacher's Presents to organise not to mention the family and getting things ready for Christmas for us.

Today I have a card that I made as a special treat for my mum. Its called a swing card and when it closes the middle piece swings back on itself and folds up into the size of a normal card. You can find a wonderful tutorial at Splitcoaststampers by clicking here.

I've used the music wheel to add a bit of interest to the background and added a couple of embossed corners to create texture. In the middle piece I have gone quite elaborate and cut out both the Wreath and the word Joy and mounted them up on Dimensionals. I have put two thicknesses behind the "O" to keep it at the same height as the "J" and "Y". I also clear embossed the word Joy and added Crystal Effects to the small berries on the wreath.

The glittery gold looking cardstock was made using Soft Suede this time and my Trusty Champagne Shimmer Paint spread over the edges using a dauber to create a gold glimmer paper. This card looks so good in real life. Definately not one you throw together in 15 minutes but the effort you put in sure is worth it when it's finished.

12 Weeks of Christmas #8 - Dasher

Hello everyone. This week I have a Christmas Card for you made with the gorgeous "Dasher" stamp. You can't believe how excited I was when I discovered that this stamp was in the Idea Book and Catalogue from Stampin Up. It is probably my most favourite Christmas Stamp ever.

This card is one from a recent Stamp-a-Stack I held. The colours are Very Vanilla, River Rock, Cherry Cobbler and Dasher is Chocolate Chip. I have also used one quarter of the "Medallion" stamp. It is also a favourite of mine, fantastic background stamp.

If you take a closer look of the card you might see that I have sprinkled just a little of the Champagne Fine Glitter amongst Dasher's gorgeous antlers. Just adds a little bit of bling without overdoing it. The sentiment is from the Four Seasons Stamp Set and I added a little bit of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding to finish it off.

WOW Presentation at Brisbane Regionals for Stampin Up

Yesterday I was asked by Stampin Up to present a WOW demonstration at Brisbane Regionals. I don't know if this technique has a name but I decided to show the technique of inking up the inside of your embossing folder which accentuates the embossed pattern after it is run through the Big Shot Machine.

For those wanting to give it a go here are the steps I follow to achieve the best results:-

You will need:

cardstock of your choice which is smaller than the embossing folder itself.
Ink Pad
Embossing folder
Brayer
Dotto (repositionable glue tape)
Big Shot and plates

First thing to do is ink up your brayer with the ink pad making sure it is well covered.
Run the inked Brayer back and forwards over the inside of the embossing folder (the recessed side only) till the ink is well and evenly distributed.
Run a bit of Dotto on the back of your piece of cardstock so that when you place it on the other side of the folder it will stick down in place and not move making it easier to assemble the big shot sandwich without the cardstock shifting and rubbing ink where you don't want it.
Close the folder up and place it on the multipurpose platform with only tab 1 open between the cutting plates an run it through the big shot slowly. It might be a tight squeeze but it ensures that the ink touches all parts of the background embossed image.
Open the folder and Vwala (is that a word).

To clean my folder and Brayer I just run them under a cold tap till they are clean and pat dry with a piece of paper towel.

I demonstrated the JOY card from my previous Post but also showed some other examples using different coloured inks and other embossing folders and the effects you can get.

Here I used the striped embossing folder and I ran it through twice, reinking the folder to make the impression darker and then running it through again after turning the cardstock 90 degrees to achieve the checkered pattern. This would make a great man's card. I used Cajun Craze ink on More Mustard cardstock and Early Espresso for the greeting.

The next card I used the Finiel flowers folder with Crumb Cake Ink on Naturals Ivory Cardstock. I was really happy with this card. This is the new Kindness Matters stamp set which I just love and it's only $19.95.

This was a favourite of mine also, the Petals a Plenty Folder using Pool Party Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. This looks so pretty in real life. I added a bit of ruffled ribbon and added the flower which is the spiky flower cut twice from the Blossom Party Big Shot Die. I spritzed it with Frost White shimmer paint in a spray bottle mixed with rubbing Alcohol giving it a couple of goes for maximum effect. A relatively easy card for a workshop I think.

12 Weeks of Christmas #7- Welcome Christmas

Hi Everyone, today I have another Christmas card for you using the Welcome Christmas Stamp Set from Stampin Up together with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder and the new Champagne Glass Glitter. I have embossed the word Joy using the new Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder and I have used Soft Suede Ink to highlight the pattern in the embossing folder.

I demonstrated this card yesterday for my WOW presentation at the Brisbane Regional Seminar for Stampin Up. I was asked to present a WOW technique in 5 Minutes. I decided to show how to ink up the inside of your embossing folders which helps accentuate the pattern of the folder once you run it through the Big Shot. We all know the technique of rubbing a sponge dauber or piece of sponge over the raised impression but I thought I would highlight the background "Recessed" part by inking it in a different or similar colour to the cardstock. In my next post I will describe how I achieve this technique and show you the other cards I had to display at Regionals. Stay tuned.........

12 Weeks of Christmas #6 - Single Stitched Stocking

Today I have a card that was one we made for my recent Christmas Stamp a Stack. We used the Stitched Stocking Stamp Set along with the matching Punch to create a single Christmas Stocking.

This was quite a simle card. I haven't put the different cuff or toe and heal piece onto the stocking, just kept it easy. The words are from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments and I punched them out with the bottom half of the Decorative Label Punch.

The colours used are Real Red, Whisper White and Lucky Limeade. And of course a tiny rhinestone placed in the middle to finish off the card.

We have Regionals this weekend and I have a card or two to show you that I will be presenting as my Wow presentation. Wish me luck and happy creating.

12 Weeks of Christmas #5 - Delightful Decorations

Welcome to my 5th week of Christmas creations. This week I have made a card using the Delightful Decorations set which also has a matching punch to cut out the baubles. The colours used are Very Vanilla, Marina Mist and my favourite, Cherry Cobbler. A rhinestone in the middle of the bauble finishes it off as well as the Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon across the top.

I also like to use the Petals a Plenty for Christmas and I used it again here. I kept the bottom quarter out of the folder leaving a blank space to stamp my words "Merry Christmas".

12 Weeks of Christmas #4 - Snow Swirled

I confess that I made this card last year and forgot to post it on my blog. I have to say I was pretty chuffed after I finished this one. It was a layout challenge at a retreat I went to and I don't normally do Layout Challenges but I should LOL. I think this came up a treat. I have used the lovely set "Snow Swirled". It is so elegant with the fancy tree and snow flakes. I have put the red piece of cardstock through the Petals a Plenty embossing folder and then used Shimmer Mist to give it a dazzle.

I used the music notes wheel on the bottom of the card with Crumb Cake to add a bit of a Christmas Carol feel and tied a big red satin bow.

I stamped the tree image and the words first before cutting the right side of the circles off. That way you can get your words straight. Added a few rhinestones to the tree and your done.

12 Weeks of Christmas #3 - Tags til Christmas

Happy Monday to everyone. Today I have another card I have made using the Tags til Christmas stamp set. I know it's the same stamp as I used last time but I just love it.

I have also got stuck into the new Glass Glitter from Stampin' Up! It's my new best friend. I love it. So much less messy than the fine glitter and gives a totally different effect too. I've used Champagne Glass Glitter on this card. I believe it is supposed to "age" over time and become a bit tarnished. That would just add to the effect I reckon.

To apply it to my card I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue so it had a bit of staying power. It finishes the card of beautifully I think.

I have also used my embossing folders, Vintage Wallpaper and Petals a Plenty and I can't get away from the good old Cherry Cobbler colour either. Sorry - I hope to have a different coloured project for you next week.LOL

My 12 Weeks of Christmas

Hi everyone and welcome to my Twelve Weeks of Christmas. I will be posting every week from now till Christmas a Christmas project for you to check out. Can you believe its only 12 weeks till Christmas. Where has the year gone. There are so many nice things for us in the new catalogue and there are some surprises for us all in the new Mini which comes out in November. The first card I have for you is quite vintage I think.

I have used the music wheel for the background and just given it a little twist as I ran it across the page diagonally to make it curvy. The Cherry Cobbler piece of Textured Cardstock has been embossed with the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder and the stamped image comes from a new Christmas Set called "Tags til Christmas".

Can you see the gold frame. To achieve this you just need a touch of Champagne Shimmer Paint on the end of a dauber and dab it over the Crumb Cake Frame (another new embossing folder too) to get the gold look. The ribbon is Crumb Cake Seam Binding made into a double bow finished of with those gorgeous antique Brads.

My Catalogue Launch

This could be my biggest post yet. Morning everyone! Today I have some photos from my catalogue launch I had on Saturday to share with you. We all had a wonderful time (bit hot for Spring LOL) and everyone got lots done of both my samples to complete and their own work. Most worked on Christmas stuff which of course is the next big thing that is creeping up quickly on us.

Here is a look at my display board and a few other things.

This is my bird cage I recently bought while on holidays. I thought I might jazz it up a bit with some Butterflies and glitter. My family loves it so I guess I'll keep it for a while on my sideboard.

All the ladies looking busy. Lots of room to spread out and make a mess.

During the day I had some things for them to create. Here are the samples they could reproduce and take home. They made two of each of these cards.

This card may look familiar to some. It was very similar to the card we made at Convention with a few changes of my own made to it. I love the Creative Elements Set and use it often. The colours I used were Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy. Just love the Seam Binding.

This was the second card using the Hello Blossom A La Carte Stamp. I used the lovely new In Colour Pool Party which is becoming my favourite very quickly. Can you see the new little mini Brads in the centre of the flower as well as the new ruffle ribbon. Love these too. This was the simplest of my cards (so I kept getting told LOL).

Then to my tricky card. I had the ladies using the build a wheel for the background, embossing for the sentiment and the new Pennant Punch and Pennant Parade stamp set for this card. They loved it but found it a little "challenging". The colour of the cardstock is Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum.

This was the last item I had them making. It is a Petal Cone gift box used with the Petal Cone die and the Fun Flowers Die. The Flowers were cut out from the Flirtatious Specialty Paper and slightly scrunched for a different look. You can't see my box clearly but I embossed that with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder before putting it together.

There was lots for the ladies to do but the event did go for 9 hours. We will be doing it again soon. Had so much fun. Maybe next time we'll have more time to do our own things. Nothing like having all that time to ourselves to do craft.

Awash With Flowers Card Set

Today I have for you a set of cards we made at my last class. It's called Awash with flowers and although it's not a brand new set, I only just bought it a short while ago. I'm so glad I did because I love it. It's so easy to use, you don't even have to line up the fill in stamp with the outline as it doesn't fit perfectly inside anyway. The colours used were Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Rich Razzleberry. All the outlines were stamped using Basic Black. Each card used a different flower from the set.

I used the Modern Label and Word Window Punches for the sentiment and added a small stick on Rhinestone for some "BLING".

You can't see in the picture but behind each piece with the image stamped on there is a piece of Shimmer Paper to add a bit more interest to the card.

Finally I finished it off with some narrow taffeta ribbon with a simple knot tied in it. Overall a very easy card set to make.

More Button Buddies

I have another button buddy to share with you today. Isn't he adorable. The little snail is so cute. I chose to use him three times and change the button colour along the way. I've stuck a small piece of paper into the first and last button holes to create the image of thread. Linen Thread is used in the middle tied in a little bow to finish it off. You can also see I've used ink to paper for the background. This is a very easy card to make and I whipped it up in about 10 minutes (after I chose which colours to use).

This set certainly makes using up your buttons a breeze.

On a different note, it was my birthday last month and a good friend of mine, Debbie made me a beautiful card using the Aviary set. I mentioned to her that I hadn't even put ink to my set yet so she made me a card. I think it's beautiful. Look at the detail in those little cages which have all been clear embossed and pieces cut out.

I just love the colours too, Soft Suede and Baja Breeze. We are so alike with out tastes.

Clearly For You Designer Frame

Our new Stampin' Up! catalogue went live on Thursday and it is jam packed with lovely new products. Here is a card I made using the lovely new Designer Frames Embossing Folders. You get two frames, an Oval which I have used here and a rectangle frame.

What I love about the oval frame is that you can cut out an image and fit it inside the oval using the Wide Oval Punch. Here I have stamped the flower image from the Clearly for You Stamp Set over the top of the small background stamp and then punched it out. It fits pefectly and looks great.

I then dabbed a small amount of Champagne Shimmer Paint (my absolute favourite) around the edge for a bit of glimmer. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the image. The colours used for this card were Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake. I also used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for the background Riding Hood Red piece. To make the frame pop out, I cut out a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock just bigger than the Oval frame and scrunched it up. I rubbed a bit of shimmer paint over it too.

Button Buddies Sneak Peek

Hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday. I have for you today a card made with another new set coming to us on September 1 in the new IBC called Button Buddies. Isn't she gorgeous. A very simple card with a few little things added here and there. I've put the black piece through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I've also added a bit of texture to the background on the Pretty and Pink card by applying ink to the cardstock straight from the ink pad using the same colour ink. They call this technique "ink to paper". It just gives a bit of a change from plain cardstock. If you look closely you can see that I put a bit of Frost White Shimmer Paint along the edges of the scalloped square piece to have a bit of bling.

This set is great to use when you want to use up some buttons. I always find it hard to add buttons to my cards and this is the perfect way to do it.

Faith in Nature

Finally I have something brand spanking new to show you as promised from Stampin' Up's up coming new Idea Book & Catalogue. From September 1 you can get your hands on some wonderful new Stamp Sets and Products. Here is one I made using a new Hostess Set called Faith in Nature. I took one look at this set and new I had to have it LOL. I used the water pen on watercolour paper and coloured in the pear using Pear Pizzazz. The card base is Peach Parfait and I added a touch of So Safron in there to balance out the colours with Early Esspresso.

I've also added a little one of SU's Mni Library Clips at the top to hold the Mini Vintage Tag with the greeting 4U which is from the Tiny Tags stamp set and fits perfectly inside it. These trinkets add the perfect vintage touch to these type of cards I think. A bit of Linen Thread was wrapped around to finish it off.

Create a Cupcake Birthday

I know I said there was new sneak peeks coming but they are not quite there yet so I thought I'd show you this lovely little card I made for my friend's 40th. She combined her party with her husband's 40th so I threw together a combined His and Hers Cupcake card. I think it worked a treat. I used the Champagne Shimmer Paint to make the icing sparkle and stamped a simple little flower on hers with a single candle on his to represent the male and female cupcake. Sorry the photo isn't of great quality but I took the photo at night about 5 minutes before we left for the party. Talk about leaving it till the last minute....

Extreme Elements Boy's Birthday

Today I have a card for you I made using the Extreme Elements Set from Stampin' Up! I'm really enjoying using this set and especially for male cards. I've used quite a different colour scheme here - Cajun Craze, Baja Breeze and a colour not often used by me, Basic Grey. I also added a bit of Smooch Spritz to the finished card to add a bit of shimmer without looking too "girly". It's hard to pick up on it but it's there in blobs mixed amongst the Grey bits and also on the Grey Star which I attached with a small silver "Jumbo" brad. If you turned the card to the light you caught the Silver bits here and there.

Explosion Gift Bag

A few months ago I made these gifts for my son's teacher as she was finishing her role as a teacher and moving into the office as the Curriculum Facilitator. I made a similar gift bag at a retreat and thought I would make another one and fill it with some easter eggs (I did say it was a few months ago LOL). To achieve the pattern on the top flap, I used Stampin' Up's Square Lattice Embossing Folder but before I put it through the Big Shot I rubbed the Elegant Eggplant Ink pad all over one side of the folder first and then carefully placed the cardstock inside making sure it didn't move before running it through. It then transfers the colour into the depressed parts of the pattern making them stand out.

To keep the bag closed I used half a velcro Dot (both the hook side and fluffy side). You might want to staple them as well as I have found the repeated openning and shutting of the bag weakened the sticky and they eventually pull off.

I also made her a little personalised note book with her initial on it. I used Stampin' Up's Die Cut Letters to cut out the K and if you look closely you can see I used Crystal effects on the K to make it shiny. While it was still a bit wet I placed a little Rhinestone on there for added Bling. It came up a treat and she loved it.

As promised, here is one of the cards I made on a recent retreat weekend. It was very similar to a card I received at convention as a swap from Marelle Taylor. I added a few different things (not much). I used a different wheel - Baroque Wheel and I also added a touch of shimmer paint down the left hand side which is achieved by dabbing a small ball of glad wrap into the shimmer paint and dabbing onto your cardstock.

You can also see on the piece of cardstock behind the bird cage some shiny spots. This is called the Faux Mother of Pearl technique and what you do is dab Frost White Shimmer Paint with your ball of glad wrap onto gloss card stock and once it is try, using your brayer, paint your cardstock with your choice of ink. I used River Rock. Don't forget to stamp your image once the piece of cardstock is dry with Stayzon Ink otherwise it will rub off.

Daniel's 8th Birthday

This is the invite I made for my eldest son's recent birthday. He wanted robots (I think he was thinking of Wall E) but he was very happy with these. His words "Cute little Robot". I used the Platinum Shimmer Mist dabbed on with a dauber to the stamp to create the silver nuts an bolts. Also used the dauber to run a bit of silver around the edge of the robot piece of water colour paper as well. Blender Pen was used to colour in the little fella.

And these were the gift boxes I made filled with lollies and the stick of M&Ms with the robot topper at the top. I made a similar topper for his cupcakes as well. The boys loved them.

I recently went on a retreat for the weekend and had a ball. I made a few cards and even got a scrapbooking page made (big deal for me). I'll post them soon. Stay tuned...

Faux Quilting

Hello everyone, today I'm showing you a card I made using a kind of faux quilting. What I have done is cut out pieces of DSP from the Subltes Paper DSP Pack using my 1 3/4" square punch and glued them down to a piece of white cardstock. I trimmed the white card stock back leaving a small edge around the patterned pieces. Then I have run the white piece with its glued on squares through the big shot using the Square Lattice folder. It gives the illusion of material. I rouched up the edges of the white piece with my cutter kit distressing tool. Then using the paper piercer tool and the mat pack template sheet, I punched small holes all around the edge and then used my white gel pen to draw small lines to give the effect of stitching. You could of course use a real sewing machine with cotton to achieve a more realistic result.

I finally added my sentiment in the middle and popped a button and ribbon bow in the corner to finish it off.

I also used the new stitches wheel to put a faint background on the So Safron cardstock.

BACK FROM CONVENTION

Well I'm back from our Convention in Melbourne - five wonderful days of spending time with our fellow demos from Australia and NZ. I had an absolute ball learning all about our products and seeing sneek peaks of what's coming in our next Idea Book and Catalogue.

Here is a piccie of the Roomy Gifts I made for my three room mates. It's not clear in the picture but I clear embossed the scroll stamp on the coloured part of the box and it looked very elegant. Antique brads were popped on top to add to the look. Each night we gave each other pillow gifts as well. These were the two I made. Filled the milk carton with musk lollies and the other little box with Moon Rocks (chocolate filled candy).

This was one of my swaps for convention and I received so many nice ones in return. It's a great way to get new ideas.The other swap I made was the butterfly card in my previous post below.

This is Genelle Little, a fellow team member from Gladstone and one of my roomies. We had a great time. Here we are at the Awards Dinner on the Saturday Night. I earned myself a new stamp set, pin and a walk across the stage with a hug from Shelli Gardner along the way for my efforts of achieving $20,000 in sales for the year.

I had an absolute ball meeting fellow demos and catching up with some I met from Sydney last year. We had three days of convention and it was jam packed with fun, buying at memento mall and seeing WOW presentations from fellow demos. I especially liked Kirsty Brown and Tenealle Williams on the last day but all the ideas we picked up from the other ladies was fabulous. Not to mention getting some free new stamp sets from the next catalogue coming in September. You are going to love them.

Elements of Style Birthday Butterfly

Hello everyone, what a month March was for me. Lots of work trying to reach my first ever major sales goal with Stampin' Up! I'm very pleased to say it paid off but I have lots of wonderful costumers to thank for their support and orders over the last few weeks. I really do appreciate it.

Today's card is the last card we made in class which accompanied the Box I posted earlier. I really love the colour combo I used here, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze and Bravo Burgundy. I've also used the Spritzer Tool, sponge daubers, blender pens and the Square Lattice Embossing folder. Can you also see the little button trinkets on the label. Some of these items were from the Summer Mini which I'm so glad to say have carried over till the end of the year.

You can also see a new label there. You can find that in the New Autumn/Winter Mini which has just been released. Lots of wonderful items in there. I'll be posting some of my creations soon. Here's a little sneak peek.

Leafy Thank You

After the recent floods we had here in Brisbane, I made these cards up for my Mother-in-law to give to all the men who helped her get stuff up off the floor and help clean up after the water went right through her whole house. I came up with this one which she absolutely adored. The colours are Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. I put the bottom section through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder and used the bit we usualy throw away from the little leaves Die and raised it up on dimensionals for a different look. Then I spritzed all over it with the Early Espresso marker. Ever since Regionals I've fallen in love with that Spritzer Tool. It's a really good masculine card I think. Happy Stamping Tina

Elements of Style

I did a workshop for some craft ladies last weekend and so I wanted to make something really special for the Hostess as a thank you gift for having me. I just love this set Elements of Style so I had a bit of a play and came up with this lovely little gift box which I filled with Coffee Bags.

I have used my Spritzer tool to make the splatting marks and the distressing tool to rough up all the edges. I also used the lovely little vintage trinkets and the lace trim from the Summer Mini which finished this off beautifully.

Overall I was sooooooo pleased with this. I'm going to turn it into a class with a matching card I think.

The colours used are Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy and Early Espresso to stamp the rose image. Blender pens were used to colour the image in.

Friends Vintage

Im being a bit partial to the vintage look lately (had you guessed). Anyway, this is a quite simple card. The main features to note - the very vanilla piece has been embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then I used a piece of sponge and lightly dabbed it in the River Rock ink then brushed it lightly over the raised parts of the embossing. I roughed up the edges with the edge of my scissors. The piece of Early Espresso has been scrunched up completely and then flattened out again to give a rustic look as well. Love Defined

This is the card we recently made at my first class for this year. I love this little set "Love Defined". It has so many possibilities. I also love the lattice embossing folder which I used for the background along with the Top Note Die. You can also see I used the Pinking Hearts punch along the bottom of the card to add a little bit of fancy. All these items are in our new Summer Mini catalogue which runs through to the end of March.

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

Hello everyone. Yesterday I had my Christmas stamp-a-stack and these are the three cards we made. All the ladies had lots of fun making them and were all so keen to get into more at home. The first is using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstock with the Contempo Christmas stamp set. The Very Vanilla Background was put through the Big Shot using the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder. I just love this one and use it far too much. A few stick on bling was added to finish off the bauble.

This was my favourite. Using the Welcome Christmas Stamp Set and the Music Notes Wheel I came up with a Country feel type of card for Christmas. I have also used the Sleigh Bells Ribbon which is part of our special at the moment (see earlier post below). It goes beautifully with this type of card. Other materials used are Naturals Ivory cardstock, Jolly Holiday DSP, Always Artichoke cardstock, spritzer tool, crumb cake ink pad for the family image and Early Espresso for the words. I also snuck in the image from Autumn Days on the artichoke piece of cardstock at the bottom using the same colour ink. Most of the pieces were roughed up using my distressing tool. I love this type of look.

I've used our new shimmer paint "Champagne" and turned it into a shimmer mist and sprayed it all over the Cherry Cobbler background before starting with this card. Black embossed the Dasher stamp and added a couple of tiny tags with silver cord (courtesy of Spotlight) to finish it off. A bit of fiddling but certainly worth the effort. Lovely and sparkly this one.

Enjoying my Morning Cup

Hello everyone, this is another new set from our new catalogue. It's called "Morning Cup" and it's gorgeous. Lots of stamps to choose from including cups, mugs, stacked cups, coffee pots, tea pots and even a little tea bag with a few words thrown in here and there as well. There is also a corresponding wheel called "Take a Sip".

I took inspiration from this card from Kirsty Brown. I have used my water pen to colour the image which was first stamped in Stazon Ink on watercolour paper. I've used a few new items as well:

Fast & Fabulous

This is a new Hostess Stamp Set for the current catalogue called "Fast and Fabulous". It is another 2 step stamp set which I love using. They allow you to achieve so many combinations of images by either using the bold stamp on its own, with its corresponding outline or with just the outline on its own. I have also used our single stamp called "All a Flutter" and I have stamped this on Vellum, cut it out and bent the wings up to give the illusion that it is alive and has just landed o the flowers. The Very Vanilla card stock has been run through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die a number of times. Just reposition the points each time you put it through to get this lovely medallion shape. Friends Never Fade

Recently I had my new Catalogue Launch with a bunch of lovely ladies at my home. Some new and some old friends. We all had a lovely night and one of the cards we made was this one. This is a new set called Friends Never Fade. I used Crumb Cake (old kraft), Pretty in Pink, Whisper White card stock with some Hemp Twine and Bravo Burgundy Ink. I destressed the smaller piece of Crumb Cake by screwing it up, ripping some edges and using the destressing tool to rough up the edges. Then using a sponge I coloured up the edges with Bravo Burgundy ink. The images on the Pink background were stamped off before inking up the pink paper to get the lighter version of ink. I'll post the second card we made soon.

Glittery Circle Circus

Circle Circus

I made this card recently for a workshop demo. Circle Circus is a very versatile stamp set as you can use it for almost any occasion including male cards which we all find a little challenging sometimes. I stamped the large circle a number of times on white cardstock using Tangerine Tango and So Safron, then using various size circle punches and the scallop circle punch I layered them up for a different effect. Lots of Blue Bots

I'm having lots of fun with this little set at the moment - "Lots of Bots". Lots of boys birthdays coming up and just been. I've used my blender pens to colour in the centre robot, cut him out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and mounted him up on dimensionals. A little bit of tearing on the Real Red Cardstock and just a simple greeting at the bottom. I also added a silver brad just to finish it off.

Very simple but very effective.

Hope you are all excited about the new Catalogue. You should be....... it's jammed packed with great stuff. Only 12 more sleeps.....

Paper Purse

Hello everyone. Yes it has been too long between posts. I have no excuses. Slack is probably the only word for it. And if you are speaking with my husband he would tell you "Twilight" was the reason for my slackness. LOL Anyway, I have put up some photos of a little paper purse we made at the last class I had. This is a lovely little gift for someone special. If I have some more interested in the class I will do it again because it was a great night and everyone left with a different purse depending on the Designer Series Paper the chose. I used the Bella Rose paper for mine and teamed it with Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss card stock. There was a few different paper techniques used for this including one called "faux suede". What you do is distress the paper until it splits apart. Screw it up, strip it with your bone folder, put it through your crimper and screw it up all over again. Keep doing that till it splits at the edges and then very carefull pull the paper apart and you get a piece that resembles suede. Have a try. Hope you are all well. STAMPIN' UP! CONVENTION 2010

Well it would have to be the best time ever and nearly the worst. I had such a great time at the convention learning heaps of new ideas, meeting lots and lots of wonderfully friendly ladies and getting to know our team members much more personally. We had a team get together on the first afternoon in our room and enjoyed swapping cards and 3D items with each other. A perfect way to get new ideas.

Then we had a fire alarm on the first night 1.30 am. We had no idea what was happening and some of us thought to grab warmer clothes but others just ran. It was a false alarm but very few of us were amused. By the time we got back to our rooms and settled down just dropping off to sleep at 3.30 am the alarm went off again and we were out on the streets of Sydney again but this time well prepared.

I had so much fun meeting women we admire on the internet. I had the opportunity to have my picture taken with Shelli (the CEO and cofounder of the company).

We also had the privilege of sitting with Shelli and her husband Sterling for Dinner on the Awards Night. Very enjoyable.

The incentive trip destination for next year was announced and all the deserving demonstrators will be off to Fiji. I was picked out of the audience along with other unsuspecting guests to dance on stage with the Fijians. Lots of fun and laughs for everyone. Won't be living that down for a while.

Well it went very quickly but we were very excited to learn that it will be in Melbourne next Year and will run for three days not two. Bring on Melbourne.

Cottage Garden Gift Set

This is the card gift set we did in our stamping class just recently. It uses the gorgeous new Designer Series Paper "Cottage Wall" and the new stamp set "Cottage Garden". I based the colours around those used in the Cottage Wall papers, Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Pale Plum and Old Olive. There was also a few other new items like the Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon and the Sizzlits 4Pack Dies "Lots of Tags" There was a little bit of cutting out of flowers and butterflies but some ladies think that is quite therapeutic. I don't mind as long as you have the right scissors and they are SHARP. All the sentiments used were from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set in the current Autumn mini catalogue.

This card is probably my favourite

And this was the lovely little box I designed for them all to fit in along with their envelopes. It has a flat over the the front and I used some stick on Magnetic Strip as a fastener.

This would be lovely as a gift to someone with blank cards inside or once you have given all the cards away individually you can use the box as a gift box for something little.

My Mum's Mother's Day Card

Hello again. As promised I've got for you today the card I made my own mum for Mother's Day. I've used Very Vanilla and Regal Rose colours with the Fifth Avenue Floral and Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Sets. The background is made using the new Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Folder which runs through your Big Shot.

To make the flower, I versamarked the rose image onto Very Vanilla card and then heat embossed white embossing powder till it becomes shiny. Then I used regal rose ink with the water pen and slowly build up colour. I coloured two images and then cut out one to layer up and make the rose look more lifelike. Voila.

Cottage Garden Class Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek at part of the Cottage Garden Class for next week. Isn't it gorgeous. I really like these colour combos of Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry (our newest In Colour), Orchid Opulence and Pale Plum. The stamp set works beautifully with the Cottage Wall Designer Series Papers which are available now in our Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. I know its a bit mean to only show you some of the picture but there are some ladies out there who don't like to see what they are about to make in my classes. Mother's Day

A very happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there and I hope you have a wonderful relaxing and peaceful one.

Today I have made a card for my husband's Mum. She loves Ballet Blue and I threw in a bit of Certainly Celery as well. This is the Vintage Vogue set which is quickly becoming my favourite. I have also added a half pearl from the Pretties Kit to finish it off. Certainly Celery ribbon is gathered across some sticky strip to give the ruffled effect. I'll post soon the card I made for my mum. I haven't had a chance to take a photo yet.

I'm Back

It has been too too long between posts. My only excuse is that I've been very busy with life in general and getting my business up and going as well as juggling the family. I'm off to my first stampin up convention in two weeks to Sydney and I just can't wait. I've made about 130 swaps and looking forward to swapping and meeting lots of friends in the process. I have today worked out how to link this blog with my Stampin' Up Blog so from now on you will get the same information on both sites (another reason why I haven't blogged much).

We have the new Autumn Winter Catalogue out now and here are some samples I have come up with.

Girl's Night In

Last Friday Night I was invited to a friend's house down the road for a little get together with some mums from my son's Prep Class last year. I have never really gone out like this for drinks and a chat so I was delighted to be invited. I had such a good time getting to know them all better and having a good old laugh about life in general. I thought I would give Jane a Thank You card for the lovely evening and whipped together a simple but quite "classy" card. I haven't used my "Cheers to You" stamp set for some time so I dusted it off and brought out the Blender Pens to create this.

I used Bravo Burgundy and Barely Banana for the drink and flooded the whole glass area with Crystal Effects to give the glasses a touch of reality. Mounted the picture with Barely Banana and Bravo Burgundy cardstock and used dimensionals to give it a lift.

I then decided in needed just a little bit more without going overboard so I had a go at scoring some simple lines around the image to finish it off. The "thank you" are words from the Happy Moments Sale a Bration set which worked a treat.

It felt good to use a set that has been at the bottom of a pile for a long time. Happy Stamping Tina

Popping Pastels

For many months now, some of my ladies who attend my card classes have asked me to show them how to use their Pastels. I finally got around to showing them on Friday and this is what we created. I must admit it was a bit of a challenge for me. I was having lots of trouble getting inspiration. Then I noticed the card on the front of the Stampin' Up! Pastel Box and the ideas flowed from there.

I have used the Flower Fancy Stamp Set to decorate an image which I incorporated on a card, gift box (design from Papertrey) and book mark. Iused only the background stamps of the large flower, the small flower, large and small leaves. The colours are Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Mustard for the flower centres and highlighted the flowers with Regal Rose and Ruby Red with a dash of Sage Shadow on the leaves. I threw in a bit of ripped So Safron Cardstock on the corners with ripped velum at the back to finish off the cardfront. The words are from the Sale a Bration Set "Whimsical Words". I started by stamping the flower image with Versamark Ink and using my daubers, gradually built on the colours starting with the lighter colours first. I then used a cotton bud to dab the darker colour onto the flower edges to give depth and create shadows. I will be holding this class again on February 19th if anyone is interested. Having a Play Around

It was my friend's daughter's birthday recently and I bought her a dress. I decided I would make the card using the patterns and colours in the material. I chose Cameo Coral, Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and So Safron.

The stamps were a mixture from the For Everything set, the Retro Remix Stampin Wheel and the heart from the I {heart} Hearts set (all of which are available from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I also threw in a bit of hand drawing to make the flowers resemble those on the dress a little more. To achieve the white areas I used the white Gel Pen. The large purple flower was made using the flower punch and a flower from the Boho Blossums punch and finished off with a rhinestone brad. I was pretty pleased with the result. Not my usual kind of work but it was fun. Let me know what you think.....

Rose Swap for Regionals

Back in November last year I attended my first Regional Seminar in Brisbane where I had a wonderful day with my fellow demonstrators and learnt little techniques to inspire us further. Part of the day was spent swapping with others cards we have made in order to gain more ideas. This is what I came up with. Quite elegant I think. I used A Rose is a Rose stamp set along with words from the Hostess Set Best Yet. The bottom half of the card I used Riding Hood Red ink with my Friendly Words Large Stampin Around Wheel. Some Old Olive grosgain ribbon helped finish it off. I distressed the edge of the vanilla cardstock with my distressing tool.

Butterfly Prints

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to you all. Today I'm showing you a card I recently made for my mother-in-law's friend for her birthday using more lovely items from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I really do like this Butterfly Prints stamp set. What makes this set even nicer is that there is a paper punch which cuts out the butterfly for you and we all love something that makes life easier. I've used whisper white with Brocade Blue for a colour scheme and thrown in a touch of Bashful blue for highlights.

SUMMER MINI CATALOGUE IS HERE!

It certainly is the silly season. I have just finished my Christmas Cards and nearly finished my shopping. Apart from catching yet another illness from my beautiful 3 year old I have had a little time to squeeze in a card I made with a new set from the Summer Mini. This one uses the For Everything set along with the gorgeous polka-dot grosgrain in real red and some bright Bold Bright cardstock and ink. If you like colouring in, this is again a great set for you.

Summer Mini runs through till the 31st March so plenty of time to make a wish list.

Spring Mini Catalogue - LAST DAYS

Good Morning. It's nearly the end of November which means it's nearly time for saying goodbye to the Spring Mini Catalogue from Stampin' Up! If there is anything you really wanted to get then this is the time to put in your order as you may not see your favourite items again.

This card is one that we will be making on Sunday in my last Stamp-a-Stack for the year. I do love the Tree Trimmings set and I adore the Scallop Oval Punch. Very simple card which is easy to mass produce.

Choo Choo Baby Boy Card

Just a quick one today. It's been a while I know but things have been a little hectic in the White household. I needed a boy card for my friend who has just had her second son. I had a bit of a play around with the Choo Choo stamp set again and came up with this one. I love using Close to Cocoa with pale blue or pink (depending on the babies gender). I also used a little bit of specialty designer series paper (the spotty one) and a little blue button from the designer buttons series.

Oh Christmas Tree

This was the third card we made in the Christmas Stamp-a-Stack we did a few weeks ago now. I'm not if you can tell but I stamped the Christmas Tree on a piece of white gloss card to add a bit of variety. The colour hasn't come out too well either. I have used only Elegant Eggplant

ink on the white cardstock and used going grey in the background stamped with the swirl stamp. It actually looked at a bit like silver. Very simple and very quick this one.

Well I'm off to a stamping retreat this weekend organised by my upline Kim Gavarra. I have worked out what I want to get done over the two and a half days and when I started getting my stuff together I was amazed at how many boxes I was gathering. I now have to have a rethink and cut my ideas down to half. LOL

I'll try and grab a few photos while I'm away to post on here next week.

Christmas is Coming

Hello and sorry for another big gap in posting. I thought I would show one of the cards we made in the recent Christmas Stamp-A-Stack. This was my favourite of the three. Quite simple but I think striking - it was made using the Winter Post set from the Stampin Up Catalogue and designer paper from the Spring Mini Catalogue. No special techniques really so ideal for mass production ready for the Christmas Post. I will upload the third card from the stack soon.

Choo Choo Gift Box

It has been too long since my last post and I must apologise. This is a little gift box we made for the kids theme card night a little while ago now. When I first saw this set "Choo Choo" I said outloud "finally something for my boys". I do love it. It is a little bit tricky to get the carriages lined up properly but if you take your time and use a stamp-a-ma-jig you will get it right. The train track is a wheel and you can get both items from our Spring Mini Catalogue which runs through till the end of November this year. The track could also be used as an old farm fence too. The words are from the hostess set, Best Yet. They fit neatly on top of the flat bed carriage. In fact you could put anything on that carriage like a small cup cake, a party hat, a birthday present or a christmas bauble. The posibilities are endless.

Girly Thongs

Anyone who loves the beach will love this stamp set "Just Beachy" from the Spring Mini Catalogue. We made this card at a recent card night for a girl. Very simple card to make using the thongs and a little greeting. The rest of the card is paper layering. Add bit of ribbon and there you have it. Oh and a bit more glitter on the thongs adds to the girliness (is that a word).

Anyone who loves colouring in will love this stamp "Seasons Surfin" from the Spring Mini Catalogue. Definately not a card to mass produce in a hurry. I used blender pens to colour in the image and the words and then the two way glue pen and diamond glitter to add more "bling" to the little light bulbs and Santa's beard. Because there was a lot of colouring I stamped the image in Black Stayzon Ink onto water colour paper. Using the water colour paper gives you a better surface to blend the ink. This was a fun card to make.

I made this set whilst on Retreat back in May. I followed the steps of that amazing lady in Canada, Andrea Walford. I have changed a few things like ribbons and sentiments. Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

As the name suggests this is where you get to make a stack of cards for Christmas - well 12 in fact. Four cards in three different designs with matching envelopes. This is one of the cards we will be making using the Tree Trimmings stamp set. I love this set. There are so many possibilities. For this card I cut one of the decorations out and raised it up for a bit of depth on the card. I used my two way glue pen to make fine lines of glue and then sprinkled the Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the top for added bling. A bit of Designer Series Paper "Ski Slope" from the Spring Mini Catalogue and grosgrain ribbon to finish it off.

Matchbox Gift Card

These days it is becoming more and more popular to give a Gift Card as a present for someone you find difficult to buy for. This is a lovely little way of wrapping the gift card and being able to say a few words with it as well. I cannot take credit for the design. That belongs to a lady by the name of Andrea Walford but I changed the colours to work with the Designer Series Paper "Tea Party" and the measurements a bit. I used my Stampin' write markers to colour in the different parts of the cupcake and candle on the front.

When you look inside you can see I have used half an envelope as the pouch for the sliding card. You could use it as a simple card to write on or you can attach your gift card to it and it slides out easily. Using the wide oval punch I made the opening where you pull on the card.

I used this card to demonstrate the use of blender pens at a recent workshop. I find using these on watercolour paper works best as it lets you blend the ink more than on normal cardstock. However I did use Whisper White for this card because I was colouring such a small area being the little flowers. I also used textured cardstock as a main background and a layer of Designer Series Paper in the same colours of Close to Cocoa and Pink Pirouette which added just a little bit of variety. I love these colours - Pink Pirouette and Close to Cocoa with a touch of Riding Hood Red. The greeting was from the new Oval All set in the Spring Mini along with the matching Scallop Oval Punch which fits these stamps perfectly. I used my dimensionals to raise the main picture and the greeting.

Stars Stars and More Stars

Here is another card I made for my recent card night. I thought this would be great for a boy of any age. No stamp sets here just a Stampin Around Wheel called Classic Stars and a few stars cut from cardstock using my "newly purchased" Star Punches - (a little hint, if you want to cut out a star with its centre cut out as well, use the small star punch first then use the large star last so you can line it up and you'll have cardstock to hold onto as well). I'm really impressed with how sharp the points of the stars are. I dared to use some blue glitter using my two way glue pen to just sparingly add some bling to the little stars.

These colours are not really me but I am going to try hard to break away from the "earthy" colours and try some "brights" for a bit. You'll get to see my colour favourites over the next little while.

This is a card we made last Friday night. I thought it was a nice card for a little girl but really you could use it for big girls too. I am really enjoying this set. I used the rock and roll technique for the butterfly by stamping off the ink and then rolling the edge of the stamp back on the ink pad. I then used a craft knift to cut around one wing and then folded it in half to show the different coloured card underneath. Very girly really. The scallop oval punch is a new one in the Spring Mini Catalogue.

Well, I've wanted to do this for a long time now and finally I've got somewhere. After much fiddling, I've finally managed to post my first card for you to see. I love this stamp set "Sense of Time" from the Spring Mini catalogue. I used this set for father's day and for a recent workshop. I just love it.

I hope you enjoy visiting my blog from time to time and I will try (not promissing anything) to keep it updated regularly.
