Bordering on Romance SNEAK PEEK

As promised, I've got another card I made at retreat.  Can you spot the new products coming our way in the Autumn/Winter Mini which goes live tomorrow?

I have coloured this image in with blender pens and ink.  I absolutely adore this new set, Bordering on Romance and it fits perfectly with the new Framelits and Edgelits that Stampin Up are releasing in the Mini.

We were given a package containing a few bits and pieces, the DSP, Grey Cardstock, the white framed piece and a length of pleated ribbon.  We could make anything as long as we used the pieces given (or part thereof) and we could add some other things as well and this is what  I came up with.

So keep an eye out tomorrow for the new Mini link on my blog or check out my webpage  www.tinawhite.stampinup.net  to view the catalogue for yourself.   It's chock-a-block full of wonderful new things I know you are going to love.

Everybunny Easter Set

Good morning everyone.  Today I thought I would show you what I got up to on retreat last weekend.  I had an absolute ball creating things for myself and for others including this little set which I made for Christopher's Prep Teacher and her Teacher Aid.  I've also made something similar for Daniel's Grade 3 Teacher and all the projects took me much longer than I anticipated.

I had lots of fun colouring these little guys in.  This time I used my water pen and inks rather than the crayons as I wanted to get the colours of Pool Party and Calypso Coral which we don't have in crayons.

I also used for the first time our wonderful new Edgelits and embossing folders to put the little scalloped edge along the bottom.  And our tiny pearls (which I thought were too small when we first got them and not fit for anything) go absolutely perfectly along the top of each scallop.

Then I tackled one of these cute little boxes created from the Milk Carton die.  I first saw these made by Kerry Bunting and you can see her version here.

This set works perfectly with this box because there are at least six little pictures to fit the six sides so there's not doubling up.  Again I coloured them all in with my aqua pen and inks then cut out the individual pictures and mounted them up with dimensionals.

I'll be back again soon with some more projects from retreat.

Liebster Blog Award

Hi everyone.  Well I have returned from my retreat weekend away and I had an absolute ball.  I love these weekends where you can just sit and do only craft (and in my case cards and boxes).  I have lots to show you although nothing this post (sorry have to take some photos first).  When I got home and had a quick look at the laptop I discovered that I had been given an award by Cynthia  called the Liebster Blog Award.  I was so thrilled to receive my first ever Blog Award and very grateful as well.

For those who are thinking "What is a Liebster Blog Award" well "Liebster" is German for "Dearest". The award is a "Share the love arrangement", given to inspirational bloggers with less than 200 followers, to bring attention to their blog, and increase their following!  I have to pick 5 more recipients whose blogs I think you would enjoy.  Pop over to see what they've done...and become a Follower.

Here's the to do list for any of the Liebster Blog Award recipients.

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award.
(Thanks again Cynthia)

2. Link back to the blogger who presented you the award.
(Find Cynthia here)

3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
(See the pretty award on my sidebar!)

4. Present the Award to 5 other deserving bloggers with less than 200 followers.
(Read below)

5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment on their blog.
(I suggest you visit their sites - you're going to love their blogs)

So here are my picks and I hope you get as much inspiration from them as I do:

*  Marelle Taylor  -  http://marelletaylor.com/

So pop on over to these lovely ladies blogs and check out what they have been up to recently.  Don't forget to leave them a message.

Thank you again Cynthia for your award.  I really do appreciate it.

Butterflies Guest Book - 3D Project

This weekend I am going on a card making retreat organised by my upline Kim Gavarra and I intend to make lots of things that I've been meaning to get made and just haven't had the time to.  So you will need to  keep checking in here over the next few weeks cause I hope to have lots to show you.  On this weekend I will be making my swaps for Convention and we are off to Canberra this year.  I promise to show you them closer to then.

In the meantime I thought I'd show you this beautiful book my mum made for her good friend for her 60th Birthday.  It was for all the guests to write comments in at her party and later for her to fill in the blank pages with photos of the evening.

The album itself was from Kasercraft and mum decorated it with retired DSP from Stampin Up and embellished it with lots of bits and pieces from my stash.  She cut the 60 out of card stock using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Medium Sizzlits Dies from Stampin' Up!  There are four layers there all glued together to give the illusion that they are cut from Chipboard.  She then shimmered them up with the Champagne Shimmer Mist as well as the butterfly which was made using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies.

Inside she used card stock in various shades of purples and white and mixed them up to form the pages of the book.   She also used different embossing folders and ran the pages through the Big Shot to fancy up where the guests were to write.

And on other pages she stamped images in corners to pretty up those.

Finally she punched holes in the card stock using the Crop-a-dile and put the book together using white round key ring clips which held the pages and cover together nicely.   Bits of ribbon both current and retired were tied around the rings to finish the whole book off.  Needless to say her friend loved it.

I'll need to go and make a list now of all the things I need to take away.  It usually ends up being most of my stuff by the time you pack the card stock, ink pad and embellishment caddies, stamp sets, punches etc. etc (You all know what I mean) :)

Flower Fancy Crayons

Hi everyone, I have for you today the next card we made in my recent Watercolour Wonder Crayon Class. For this card we used the very versatile Flower Fancy Stamp set.   I only used the background stamps and left the outline ones in their case.

This is a really foolproof way of using the crayons because it doesn't matter how many times you stamp the image, you will never get it the same way twice.  I have coloured the Pretty in Pink crayon around the outside of the petals on the large flower and then coloured the centre and a small part of the inner petals in with Rose Red.  Spray water directly onto the stamp and then press the stamp onto your watercolour paper and voila.  You will need to reapply the crayon to produce the next image.  The leaves have been coloured in with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.

I wanted to make the sentiment stand out a bit so after mounting it up on dimensionals I ran the very vanilla crayon lightly round the edge of the label and around the card as well to give it a bit of a highlight.  A few pearls in the corner finished it off.   I also used crumb cake seam binding and ruffled it along the underside of the Rose Red card stock.

Faith in Nature - Wonder Crayons

Hi everyone.  Today I have the second card that was made in my recent Watercolour Wonder Crayon Class.  The stamp is from the Set "Faith in Nature" and I love this pear image.  It works perfectly with the Crayons.

Here is a close up of the coloured image.  The colours used were Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Early Espresso.   For this card I coloured the crayon straight onto the water colour paper and then with my aqua pen I blended the colours carefully.  A little bit of Early Espresso was rubbed across the bottom to ground the image .

I'll be back soon with the next card from this class.  Meanwhile, happy creating yourself.

Everybunny Watercolour Wonder Crayons

Hello everyone, finally I have got my act together, worked out my new laptop and got myself organised to   make something for you all to enjoy.  It's only taken me a little over a month LOL.

Today I have a card for you using the gorgeous little stamp set called Everybunny from the current Stampin Up IBC.   With Easter fast approaching and my upcoming Watercolour Wonder Crayon Class, I decided to combine the two and create this little number for you.   I have 3 other cards we will be making but I'll post them soon.

So here I've used Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla Cardstock together with some DSP from the current Sale-a-bration Catalogue called Everyday Enchantment.  There is also the dainty little Organdy Ribbon as well also from the SAB Catty.

So here I stamped the little girl bunny with Black Stayzon Ink onto water colour paper.  I have then used my Watercolour Wonder Crayons to colour in the different sections using a water brush.  I used my brush to collect colour from the end of the crayon rather than the tip to keep the tip in its point.  If you notice, there are shaded sections of the stamp image and if you concentrate your colour in those sections first and then brush the colour outwards from there you get the best results for your shading.   We don't have Calypso Coral in the crayons so I substituted Riding Hood Red for her dress and the basket ribbon which I think works a treat.   Finally I ran my Sahara Sand Marker around the edge of the image to make it "POP".

The scalloped circle comes from the Perfect Pennants Die which I ran through my Big Shot.  The circle that the bunny is on comes from the Circles #2 Die and fits perfectly inside the scalloped circle.

I will have more cards from my upcoming class to show you as I finish them.  I promise to keep this blog more up to date from now on........
xx

I almost forgot to thank my friend and fellow SU team member Genelle Little for the inspiration of my card.  She made this card for our Brisbane Regionals as her swap.  Thanks Genelle.
